How are police officers part of the government in daily life?

The daily routine of an officer is go into town and help other people from robbery, murder or asult.

Police officers protect people in our society, they work long time and shift work, they pass evidence to court, they chase lawbreakers and take them to court too to be fined or put in a gaol.

Have to pay them, listen to them and abide by their rules.
