Clouds are formed from water evaporating and then condensing in the troposphere of the atmosphere. Rain clouds are clouds that have A LOT of condensed water in them, and when that happens, the water becomes too heavy to be suspended in the air and it falls to the ground as rain, sleet, snow, or hail depending on how cold it is.
