in a prism or a raindrop there are 7 colors, the sun gives white light, so when it rains and the sun is at the back of you the white light hits the prism or water drop making it inside the prism refract the 7 colors and then reflect out of it. But it takes millions of prisms to create a rainbow, so the process repeats and it makes a rainbow.

Rainbows are made when particles of water vapor are hit with a light of beam (usually white) which make it disperse into 7 different colors making a rainbow.

I agree, the sunlight hits water droplets which then refracts all the colours of the spectrum (in this case the droplets) That is what makes a rainbow.
