The Tigris and the Euphrates rivers are each a river in its own right, however they join each other in the Middle East. Their history is part of the history of Mesopotamia.
The Tigris flows 1,150 miles from the mountains of east Turkey, through Iraq, navigable to Baghdad.
The Euphrates also begins in eastern Turkey and flows 1,700 miles through Syria and Iraq and thence into the Persian Gulf. It floods twice a year.
They now follow different courses.
To a much lesser extent since the construction of the Aswan Dam in the 1960's meant that from 1970 the annual flood was controlled.
"Mesopotamia" means "the land between the rivers", referring to the Tigris and the Euphrates. There is still land between those rivers. But there never was a country called "Mesopotamia", that's just a geographical expression. That area is called "Syria" now, or makes up most of Syria.
the Tigris river starts at the Armenian plateau but I'm not even sure where it ends yet I'm still doing research on it...
The mother land? The "beginnings location" according to the Holy Bible (Genesis chapter 2:10-14) is where the Pishon, the Gihon, the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers were...that general area. Two of the rivers seem to have disappeared though the Tigris and the Euphrates still exist. Africa is the pro-evolution theory group choice of "beginnings location".AnswerSince the first humans evolved in Africa, it is understandable that some would wonder whether the biblical Garden of Eden was also in Africa. However, it seems clear that the biblical authors believed that the legendary garden was somewhere in the Middle East. Russia is the motherland. Israel is the holy land.
This question is incomplete, you don't specify the region or culture associated with the question. I could give you the names of literally dozens of "important" rivers and yet I still wouldn't be able to answer your question. Examples: Nile River, Amazon River, Tigris River, Euphrates River, Mississippi River....
Mesopotamia is a part of Iraq, and Iraq still does have the Tigris and Euphrates which remain the most important rivers in the Middle East after the Nile. The difference between Mesopotamia and Iraq in terms of topography mainly concerns the area of Iraq outside of Mesopotamia (such as the Zagros Mountains in the East or the Anbar Deserts in the West). Note: it is not that these areas did not exist during the time of Ancient Mesopotamia, just that they were not part of that region (in the same way that the Rocky Mountains were not part of the Thirteen Colonies, even though they are part of the United States and existed concurrently with the Thirteen Colonies). The other difference is that the silt carried by the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers has pushed the southern point of Mespoptamia further south each year. Half of Kuwait and the Iraqi Shatt Al-Arab region have been formed since the end of Ancient Mesopotamia.
According to the Bible,There was a Tower of Babel it would have been located in the area of the Tigris-Euphrates Rivers Look Up Genises 11:1-9The Tower is no longer standing. According to ancient writings 'God overturns the Tower with a great wind' It is quoted elsewhere that 'the top of the Tower was burnt, the bottom was swallowed and the middle was left standing to erode over time'

The first people to settle did so because they developed methods of farming. Before that people would hunt and gather. After they decided or found out how to farm they could then settle somewhere as opposed to keep moving to find food. Mesopotamia just happens to be one of the first places that where they discovered this.
she is dead of course but it is to believe that her ghost still lives and is out of all rivers, and lakes searrching for her dead children for which she regrets killing hem. but it is said not to go by rivers at nite cause if she does exist she may kill u. but it is strongly to believe that her ghost still exists.
