Attacks are rare and they do not hurt unless it is a male. They tend to do a little more damage but it still does not hurt. They look painful but it take a lot of bites in the same place to do any deep cut. I have researched this before answering and most videos and stuff of attacks are made and they use makeup to make them look worse than they really are. Yahoo has videos on their site like this and they are really extreme. Nothing bad will ever come from a squirrel monkey bit.
