There are many different kinds of ants.

Generally, male flying ants are a little bigger than the correspomding worker ants. (They will be significantly bigger if you include the wings.) Flying females (potential new queens) are bigger still.

In the UK, flying ants are still much smaller than other icommon nsects like ladybirds (ladybugs), flies, bees, wasp and moths - perhaps about half a cm.
