Biologically, the baby will contract in the womb when he/she is ready to come, you're body is the one that makes labor possible. 36-40 weeks is the typical amount of time for a healthy baby to arrive in the world. However, I am sure your doctor is encouraging you to remain calm, and under your doctor's orders, your doctor will then see if it is indeed necessary to induce your labor. I know that this may be an uncomfortable time for you and that you're very worried yet you cannot anticipate the arrival of your prince or princess, but the more time in the womb the stronger and healthier a baby will be.
