How can I fix My signal iight switch makes a hard click and the light doesnt blink it just stays on and is there a way to fix it without having to buy a new one on a 1997 Chevy S-10?

I suspect that your turn signal switch has a problem inside it. Would have to remove the plastic covers on the steering column and unplug the turn signal switch as a quick diagnos. If your emergency flasher switch is part of the multlifunction switch, then power could be feeding across circuits. the emergency flasher switch has constant battery power.
