I take my dog outside but sometimes I leave him on the extended leach so he can walk around by himself. The problem is when I put him on the extended leach, he doesn't get off the porch. He sits next to the door on my porch. I tried showing him it's Ohkay to walk around and he has plenty of space to play or to walk around the yard but once I get him off the porch he runs back and sits. What can I do to get him off the porch?

They are probably there because there is a source of food - bugs. So they may be doing you a favor by eating bugs. However, look at it another way - many people would think that you were very lucky to have these animals around - people travel for miles to see tree frogs. Please do not hurt them.

The intent of a whirlwind romance is to sweep your intended right off of her feet. Please sweep the front porch. How can you sweep with that old broom?
First, take the dog out on a leash and let him sniff around the porch. Keep doing that daily until he gets used to it, and you can pretty much let go of the leash. Then take the leash off completely. Your dog should know the command "no", so if he tries to get off the porch, you can simply say no. If this doesn't work, take him to obedience classes.
Buy the plastic bird spike, cut to length and put on areas they roost with liquid nails (glue) and a caulking gun.
