You say you only "might" be pregnant. The absolute first thing you do is go to a drugstore where nobody knows you and buy a home pregnancy test. You follow the instructions on the pack to the letter and you find out for sure before you do anything else. If you turn out not to be pregnant, be careful how you dispose of the packaging. Dump it in a public trashcan far from your home or school. That way you don't worry your parents needlessly. If you turn out to be pregnant and you seriously think your parents will throw you out of the house, then before you do anything else, you need to find yourself a source of support. You're going to have a lot of tough decisions ahead and you're going to need help making them, not to mention financial support! Are there any members of your extended family who you think will be more sympathetic than your parents? Do you have an aunt or older cousin who could help you break the news to them and give you a place to stay if your parents do react the way you suspect? If not is there any responsible adult whom you can tell your secret to, who won't be legally obliged to tell your parents straight away? Find out what the rules are regarding guidance counsellors in your state. Could they be a source of support? Is there a charity hotline that you could ring anonymously for advice? The day before you tell your parents, pack a bag with some essentials and stash it in your school locker or at a friend's house. That way you're prepared in case the worst happens. Depending on your parents, it might be better to write them a letter first. That way they have time to read it, absorb your news and decide how they're going to react before you arrive and discuss it in person. If you just spring it on them, they're going to react with disbelief and anger first. Those are just natural reactions; they'll probably say things they don't mean. You should also gather your courage and talk to your one-night-stand. Depending on the age of consent laws where you live, he could be convicted of rape, since he's so much older than you. If your parents get angry enough, they might take legal action against him and you need to decide if that's something you want or not. Talk to him before you tell your parents his name. Good luck with everything.
