If it taste ok, it is safe to drink. Some Clarets can go very rusty with age (and very few clarets will mature as successfully as most Burgundies will) - but if the wine is 'corked' it will have a strong hydrogen sulphide (badd eggs) smell, and you won't be able to drink it anyway without a clothes peg over your nose. And once in a while you find a wine which is ugly to look at, but very good indeed to drink. (I had a girlfriend like that, once upon a time).

Milk is very bad for birds, it is fatty (bear in mind they are smaller than humans) and it can cause digestive complications for them.
Pasteurised milk is safe to drink all year round if the product is still within it's expiry (or sell by) date.
They can, and many cats love the taste of milk, but its not good for them due to the lactose that is present in cow's milk. Many cats are lactose intolerant (they cannot digest it properly) so can get sick from ingesting it. Goats milk, or specially formulated cat milk do not have lactose in so are perfectly safe.
