you need to be whatever he wants you to be because he only cares about himself. people who exhibit this behavior do not have an understanding of a world outside of themselves. I have a mother who is like this and she never gets what I'm saying when it comes to her selfishness and inability/lack of willingness to hear what i have to say. i say you run away - fast. don't waste any more time with this person. it will only cause you pain and you WILL NOT change him, period.
