use "CWShredder"...it'll take it out. You can get a free trial version.
It's difficult to give a good answer to this question. There are a lot of trojans with the name StartPage. They all have something in common ... they haijck your browser, making normal internet-browsing almost impossible. The file leimbag.dll is probably one of the trojan's files. A lot of the StartPage-trojans are recognized by Symantec. If you have a Symantec virusscanner, do a complete system-scan. If not, use the Symantec Online virusscanner to scan your system for virusses: security.symantec Good luck, Jahewi :-)

Removing A Trojan HorseHere are recommendations from FAQ Farmers: Because it's in your system32 folder you need to click start menu, right click on my computer, click properties, then click system restore and turn system restore off on all drives. Then go to this website (its Mcafee sub site) http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ Download stinger, a Trojan detector, and Eliminator. Run that and it should catch the Trojan and delete or fix the file. After you run it, restart your computer and the go back to system restore and turn it back on. Run Stinger again to see if it has gone.Download Hijackthis and look for anything referencing stivc.com and delete. It worked for me after the virus kicked my butt for two weeks.
To remove the Trojan from C:restore-temp You need to delete your restore files. The best thing to do is a system restore. If you do not have a safe restore point, Just delete the restore files. You can do this by going to My Computer properties (System Properties) select System Restore tab and check turn off system restore, click apply. Now your restore files together with the Trojan will be removed. Now turn on System Restore again. Could you please give the Trojan name?
I have found viruses in temporary internet files. Delete files from your history folder. And I always created a restore point and did a system restore. Always set "days to save internet files" to zero. I think default is 20 days.AnswerI have AVG installed, but I must not have updated properly. I now have a Trojan horse download keenval.j on file c:/Program files/common files/updater/wupdate.exe I also have a Trojan horse startpage.4am on c:/windows/system32/nbibgh.dllIs there another download available to fix this? Thanks John
I always use Norton AntiVirus and Symantec. Don't trust programs like Windows Fast AntiVirus.
Go to Symantec's website and download the fix. You will need to boot into safe mode and run it so the trojan's DLL files don't load.
