How can you determine the value of a Matchbox car collection? |
Hi,
I will try to help you as best I can.
It really depends on what kind of matchbox car you have, I have attached a link for you to look at which lists some of the model series sold from 1970 - 1980.

Condition and rarity is the key to selling your match box car at a nice price and to be honest with you it all comes down to just how rare it is. For example one match box car sold recently in England went for 4,000 pounds....It was rare and it is the highest recorded amount paid to date. But this kind of purchse is rare, most Match box cars seem to sell for between $1 - $100.
It is best to surf the auction sites such as eBay and Trademe to find out how much people are prepared to pay for various models and do some research on what series/models you have in your posession.
I have something like 400 in my collection which were all manufactured during the 1970s and three original 1970s matchbox cases. They each are valued differently, some more common than others. They all range in prices from $2.95 - $125.
Good luck with valueing them.
