When you click a file to download from an email or the internet, depending on which browser you are using, several options can occur.
1. Older browsers/editions of Finder or Windows will ask you if you would like to "open" the file or "Save" the file. Click "Save" and a window will pop up with a finder. From here, you can select where to save your file to. On the left hand side, there is a navigator that will allow you to choose where on the computer you want to store the file, which breaks down into smaller folders as you continue to click the arrows. Click "My Computer", which should drop down with drive options, including the USB drive you have put into the computer. Click the USB drive, and save the file somewhere on the USB. Click "Save". Open up the USB drive folder to make sure the transfer completed.
2. Newer browsers (such as Google Chrome) will automatically download any files from the Internet into a "Downloads" folder. If the file pops up at the bottom of the browser window, showing the progress of the download, right-click the file once it's done and select "Show in Folder". Otherwise, open up the "Downloads" folder under your user name/My Computer in the hard drive. Once you have selected the file you want to move, click and drag the file from the Downloads folder to an open window displaying your USB drive. The simple click and drag will copy over the file to your USB drive.
