THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL ANSWER BY ANY MEANS. I ALSO HAVE A GAS FIREPLACE. I DO NOT HAVE A BLOWER ON IT AS OF YET. JUST HAD A CHIMNEY SWEEP INSPECT IT TO SEE IF IT NEEDED CLEANING JUST YESTERDAY. AND HE DID SUGGEST THAT WE GET A BLOWER FOR IT. HOW I HEAT OUR HOME IS THIS....SEE WE HAVE A CONVERTED DEN FROM A GARAGE. AND THAT IS WHERE THE FIREPLACE IS. BEFORE IT STARTS TO GET COLD IN THE EVENING WE START THE FIREPLACE CLOSE THE DOOR TO THE DEN AND LET THAT ROOM HEAT UP. THEN WE OPEN THE DOOR AND TURN THE FAN ON, THAT IS TO OUR HEATING AND A.C. UNIT. THE FAN BLOWER ONLY! AND IT WILL PULL THE WARM AIR OUT OF THE DEN INTO THE REST OF THE HOUSE. I THINK THAT IT WORKS. WITH THE GAS AND ELECTRIC BILLS GOING HIGHER AND HIGHER WHAT ELSE CAN WE REALLY DO? I DO HAVE A LARGE HOME WITH A SUN ROOM AND THIS WORKS FOR US. OUR HOME IS ALSO RANCH STYLE SO THE FLOORS ARE BARE CEMENT IN THE KITCHEN ,DINING ROOM, AND SUN ROOM. I ALSO RECCOMEND BUYING FLEECE SLEEPWEAR FOR YOUR FAMILY JUST TO KEEP A CONSTANT TEMP ON YOUR BODY. EVERY BIT HELPS RIGHT?
