How can you find out what kind of graphics card you have if the 'dxdiag' command pulls up something that doesn't have a video tab?

Answer

The debug command is usually helpful in identifying the video card.

To start debug:

Click on "Start" then click "Run" Type in "debug" then click "OK"

You will be presented with a "-" prompt. Type in "d c000:0000" then press enter.

You will see something like this:

In this case, there is still no information which identifies the video card, so we want to type "d c000:00e0" then press enter.

This time, we can see information which identifies our video card. In this case, a GeForce FX 5200.

If the video card still can't be identified by this step, try the following commands, pressing enter after each one.

d c000:0150
d c000:01c0
d c000:0230

If after these 3 additional commands, the video card isn't identified, the case will need to be opened to physically inspect the video card.
