How can you find the age and value of a Savage Model 660 shotgun shell reloader?

Answer:

Answer

I have a Savage Model 630 Shotshell Reloading Press. There are no serial numbers to identify when it may have been made. While I do not remember what I paid for it, nor exactly when, I DO have a letter from Savage Arms dated May 21,1969, addressed to me while I was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The letter is responding to my inquiry regarding loading charts and guage conversion kits for the Model 630, so I probably bought my press earlier that year. I can tell you from the 1969 parts price list, that it would have cost $78.50 to rebuild the Model 630 from parts back then, so the new press probably ran about $50.00 - $70.00 retail. What it might be worth today depends solely on condition, and what someone is willing to pay. I have recently seen it on auction for a starting bid of $75.00, with no bidders. For more information, have you tried to contact Savage Arms in Westfield, Massachusetts ??
