Unless you know where there the actual cut in the wire is it is pretty hard, but normally headphones tend to cut and joint between the jack and wire.
Anyway how to fix it
Cut it just above or below the place of cut,
remove all the shielding around the wires, carefully not to damage the wires inside,
then you should see three wires, if they are headphones without a microphone!
one of these is called the common, common tends to be eitheir copper or gold color
the other two are direct
rejoin the wires accoridng to how they were, then cover each one with tape around the metal parts so they dont cause a short circuit, and volla!
