It's most likely the sending unit. have your mech check that for you.
follow the red or positive cable from the battery
Does the electric fuel pump turn on when the key is turned to the on position? If yes, then check the coil. Otherwise, you would need to provide more information.
Once you turn your plates in you should not receive a renewal, keep the recpiect for your records
The regulator is part of the engine control unit, in other words it is inetrnally built in the car's main computer.
