click start then click run OR HOLD win-key and HIT "R"
to bring up the run dialog
then in the run dialog type compmgmt.msc
You should now see the computer management snap in
Click on disk management
Then right click on the disk you want to format
and click format. Choose either FAT32 or NTFS.
For securities sake it's recommended to choose NTFS.
Format and you are done.
Then just reboot when its finished formatting
