Your airfare price will be the lowest if you depart and come back on a weekday (Mon, Tue, Wed or Thu). Airfares also may be significantly lower if you travel during low season (Jan-May, Sep-early Dec) and avoid any major holiday periods (Valentine's Day, Easter, Spring Break, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc.).
