Usually when you exit a supermarket, card store, or mall there are some Veterans with a can of dollars. The dollars go to their Association and in return, you get a red "poppy" flower. By donating a dollar, you can honor a veteran.
Just walk up to one who you know is a veteran, shake his hand and say Thank You.
.....
I am a veteran. If you want to honor me, pay your taxes without complaining about it. The military and vets programs run on big piles of tax money; if you don't pay your taxes, you hurt the troops and the vets.
No. There is only 1 answer, which is that we celebrate Veterans day as a memorial for the veterans who fought for America. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
No, just the United States
Go to a parade or go to a Memorial Service or somewhere Veterans are speaking. Set up a display in your local library or other public place. Don't ForGet..... Hug a Vet
Because they protected you from the other countries that were trying to destroy your country.
The name of the veterans holiday of November 11 was originally called Armistice Day. It was a remembrance of World War I. However, in light of World War II and other wars, the name was changed to honor veterans of all time.
Other protected veterans (veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. military during a war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge is awarded);
Yes marines can be veterans. they have fought in war as well as the navy and other soldiers. Marines should be honored as well.marines are all veterans.
Veterans Day does not have nay other names. It is just known as Veterans Day and is celebrated on November 11th of each year.
yes It is not a Federal holiday. Many businesses will operate as usual, and not acknowledge it at all. As a Veteran, I feel that the day does not do what it was intended, to honor those Veterans who served their country during times of peace and war. The country as a whole seems to ignore it, while Veterans try to acknowledge each other.
Veteran's Day is a US Federal holiday. It allows citizens to participate in military ceremonies, parades, and other events.

Definitely! I think that we should remember our veteran's on all days not just Memorial, Veteran's day and 4th of July. Afterall veterans serve selflessly to ensure your freedoms and that is an amazing gift that has been given to each of us (even the vets) from the current vets and the vets that have died before us
