Click File>Import and select from the files of type list AutoCAD Drawing (*.DWG.*DXF) and then select you file. Pnce the file is iported into Studio Max you can then control the layers by selecting Tools>Layer Manager. Here you can change the visability, freeze and Rendering controls.
