How can you know if somebody is online on Facebook?

You click on online friends and it shows all the friends online. There isn't any noise yet that shows your friends are online.


Well, to my knoweledge you can't. And just to let everyone know, with the previous answer, that person was thinking of Myspace....not facebook. On facebook....If I'm correct, the only people you can see if they are online or not are your friends. And how you do that is when your logged in, and go to one of your friends profiles, under their profile picture it has options....send Jane doe a message, poke Jane doe, etc. If there is the option that says chat with Jane Doe, they are online. If you look at your friends profile and the chat with Jane doe option is not there, they arent online. Another thing is at the bottom right of your screen, it says chat. If you click on that, it shows you whos online.
yes you click on chat and it will pop up and you must have them as a friend but you click on chat and it will show your friends that are online
