A degree or certification does not guarantee that you will get quality instruction. A dance instructor who has fewer than 15 or 20 years of experience may be able to demonstrate a dance well, and may be able to talk to you about what you should be doing, but they may not know how to break down movement and convey the details to you in a way that you understand and learn. Ask a teacher how long they have been teaching before you plunk down your money.
