Witchcraft is taught in various ways. The best way is to find someone who has been a practitioner for several years and find out how they learned.
Most metaphysical bookstore have a notice board where you may find postings for Pagan gatherings, this might be a good place to start.
Do not be taken in by the "trappings" of "flash" of those you meet. Trust your own instincts to find someone who is honest and trustworthy.
If all else fails you can do some of the research yourself. There are a large number of very good books out there to start you on your way, however, you will do best if you are taught by someone. If you are looking for book, anything by Scott Cunningham, Ray Buckland, Amber K, or even Starhawk are excellent starts. Read carefully, take only what you feel comfortable with and ask as many questions as you feel you need to.

∙ 11y agoThis is a debate as to whether spells work. There is no real scientific evidence saying that they do. So casting spells is more of an art than a science. That aside, casting spells is about contacting deities and redirecting your own energy in order to bring about desired ends. It is mostly about intent and concentration. The power is in you. It is not in the exact words you chant nor the tools you use. These are all props to help assist you in your magic workings.
To get started, there are books on this topic, there are websites, and you can meet with people who do this. Be aware that most of what is out there is just fluff and fraud. So you have to look carefully and check out the reviews of any book or course, and see if the work is accredited in any way.
