  • Black craft paint
  • Paint brush
  • Orange tissue paper
  • 10 by 17 inch piece of thin cardboard
  • Double stick tape
  • White card stock

  1. Step 1

Draw two sets of two windows on the long side of one of the large tissue boxes. Draw a set of windows and a double door on the second large tissue box. Answer

Yes you can, but if lots of little kids come, i don't recommend making it to scary. All you need to do, is go to a big Halloween store, and buy lots of scary things, and make your haunted house look really cool and professional, but not to kiddie.

A small haunted house, easy to make :

Instructions
Things You'll Need:
  • Paper milk carton
  • Construction paper
  • Glue or glue sticks
  • Hot glue
  • Colored pencils
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

Rinse out a paper milk carton and allow it to dry.

  2. Step 2

Measure the sides and top of the milk carton with a ruler. Measure out the exact same dimensions on some construction paper. Use several different bright colors, such as green, purple, red, blue and orange. Extend the roof of the haunted house by one or two inches. Make sure the roof paper will also cover the top strip of the milk carton.

  3. Step 3

Measure a door, windows, window panes and shingles for the haunted house. Make sure that they will fit neatly on your finished project. Measure out a separate piece of construction paper for the chimney and for the keyhole. Measure additional pieces to go inside the folds of the top of the milk carton.

  4. Step 4

Draw straight lines in brown or ocher pencil across the pieces of construction paper to indicate the siding of the haunted house. Use your ruler to keep them very straight. Also draw straight lines across the shingles, and draw some details on the door and windows. Draw a doorknob and keyhole on a small piece of construction paper. Use the same color pencil as the construction paper for the door and shutters. Use a different color pencil for the window panes, doorknob and keyhole.

  5. Step 5

Draw semicircular tiles on the roof. Draw a brick pattern on the chimney by drawing straight lines across the paper horizontally, then staggering the vertical lines. For these parts, match the pencil color to the color of the paper.

  6. Step 6

Darken the lines of the siding. Create a modest shading as if the siding were casting a slender shadow. Don't be too neat with your work, but instead try to make your haunted house look just a little bit old and broken down.

  7. Step 7

Cut out the pieces with a pair of scissors. Hold them up against the milk carton and trim as necessary so that they fit perfectly. You may leave a bit of overlap on two of the sides of the haunted house.

  8. Step 8

Use craft glue or glue sticks to attach the paper to the milk carton. If using craft glue, spread it thinly and evenly so that it doesn't warp the paper. Attach the siding first. Then attach the roof tiles and the paper to disguise the inner folds of the milk carton. Allow the glue to dry.

  9. Step 9

Attach the window panes and door. Cut the chimney on a diagonal angle and hold it up against the roof of the haunted house. Continue trimming until you have the right angle. Use hot glue to attach the chimney.

  10. Step 10

Attach the window frames, doorknob and keyhole to the haunted house. After the glue has dried, add the shutters. Draw a cute, smiling ghost. Cut him out and attach to the top of the chimney with glue.

  11. Build a haunted house:

  12. Instructions
    Things You'll Need:
    • Spider Webbing
    • Wigs
    • Halloween Candles
    • Halloween Decorations
    • Halloween Light Sets
    • Black Lights
    • Cauldrons And Foggers
    • Fog Machines
    • Jack-o'-lanterns
    • Table Candelabras
    • Tombstones (prop)
    • Antibacterial Soaps
    • Hand Wipes
    • Masks
    • Halloween Sound Effects CD
    • Coffins
    • Masks
    1. Step 1

Find a safe place large enough to accommodate all the things you plan to do. You can use your house, basement or yard--or if you really want to be extravagant, you can rent a large, vacant building.

    2. Step 2

Draw up a plan. Using a diagram of the space available, figure out what you want to have in your haunted house and where it might go. Plan an entrance and an exit.

    3. Step 3

Do the hard stuff first. Order or construct props, including such items as fake headstones, guillotines and coffins.

    4. Step 4

Put the haunted house together. Make it dark using black plastic trash bags or blankets over windows, then add eerie lighting. Include lots of unexpected scary sounds and sensory experiences to startle visitors. Keep in mind the need for adequate ventilation.

    5. Step 5

Use peeled grapes as eyeballs, placing them where people will touch them in the dark. Use Styrofoam heads from a beauty supply house and turn them into monsters.

    6. Step 6

Spritz visitors, faces with cold water in the dark, or have visitors walk through spider webs made of stretched cotton or wet string.

    7. Step 7

Create a bubbling-cauldron effect with the aid of dry ice. Fill a rubber glove with water colored with food coloring and freeze it, then remove the glove and float the 'frozen hand' in the cauldrons.

    8. Step 8

Invite several adults to participate with you. They can dress in costume and be part of the haunted house, but can also keep an eye on things and help supervise participants.

    9. Step 9

Advertise. Whether the haunted house is simply for trick-or-treaters in your neighborhood or a community affair, put up a sign telling kids where to find some haunted fun on Halloween.
