How can you prevent asperger's?

Answer:
As of now there are no proven strategies to prevent Asperger's syndrome in general. However in individual cases the following strategies might help.
  • genetic counseling:If there is family h%autism, the risk for autism in the offspring may be higher than that of the general population.Hence consult the geneticist or the clinician to know the risk of autism in the offspring and if the risk is significant try to avoid the pregnancy.
  • the risk of inheriting autosomal recessive disorders as well as polygenic disorders are more common among products of consanguineous marriages.hence the same may be avoided.consanguineous marriages are more common in southeast, middle east and far east Asian countries.
  • early recognition and early intervention might help to prevent disability.
  • academic achievement and rehabilitation and psychosocial support will reduce dependence on the family members and make the individual with aspergers independent to some extent.
