How do you make you go into labor?

You can have sex since sperm has prostaglandins (sp.) softens the cervix. Plus sex causes you to release the oxytocin hormone which helps to trigger delivery if your uterus is ready. I've also heard that exercise and pumping breast milk helps. It is best to let your body do this naturally but you may be able to speed things up by going for a short walk (make sure you have a friend or cell phone with you incase something happens). Walking helps relax your body more thus allowing the baby to ease down into position.

At the hospital. There is only one safe and sure way to induce labor and that is at the hospital. Anything else is a chance.

If you have contractions you are in labor. The cervix needs time to slowly dilate to 10cm. They only give you medicine to make it start of it has stopped.
