Answer

I have had this kind of high-jacking virus before and it can make you quite angry. Put these on your things to do list in this order. First, download a free firewall like Zone Alarm. This will block future junk from being deposited on your already junked software. Next download ad-aware It too isfree and it will clean your computer of many cookies and trojans that are in there. Next Download another free program called Hijack this. Run this and look for some of the things that are bugging your browser and delete them. More than likely this will clear up your problem. If you can get hold of Ad aware 6 (the pay for version) it has a feature that will keep future software from taking over your browser. If these measures do not work, backup your important stuff and reinstall xp and then I know your problem will be solved. Of course it is a hastle , but can be the only way sometimes. Remember that all these free things Games ,etc are not really free. They will deposit things on your computer to mine info from you. That is the price you pay and these things they deposit are the things that take your computer over. As I browse I am amazed at how effective zone alarm is at keeping stuff out of my computer. Everytime I see its little red bar I know some body has been blocked from my computer and from causing my system from slowing down or being screwed up.Good luck with it and God Bless Remember it is just a machine and can be fixed. Infact you could throw it away and after a few weeks you might be less frustrated and better off!

I had the same problem for already a few weaks; my cpu was always 100%

I have solved it now; it is a virus

I dowloaded spyhunter; the free trial version, this detects a lot of items files, registry, memory.

But because it is a trial version you can not delete the problems with the tool, so you have to write everything down and do it manually. Regedit and delete the mentioned items. The next time you start up; your computer starts up faster and after 2 minutes the iexplore.exe file dissapears and you cpu time will be back to normal.

I just did it 1 hour ago and it works. Good luck!

Answer

This is a very simple problem.

1. Go to housecall.antivirus.com 2. Click "Scan now it's free" 3. Pick United State 4. Click YES 5. Wait till all ther fixes loaded 6. Check all your hard drive 7. click scan 8. When scan finished, hit delete 9. Tada....

It's so simple. Now restart your computer.

If you have file that you can not delete, you have to go into the safe mode with network support and run the scanner again and delete the file.

To go into safe mode, you have to keep pressing the CTRL key while windows is booting.

If even in safe mode, you can not delete the virus, you need to download a tool call Killbox. Use google and type in Killbox Download and you will find it.

These answers are all wrong. There is no need to remove XP. What should be done if to download the (free) program 'enditall' and terminate the process 'iexplorer'. When this is done, use search find or folders to locate the module that runs iexplorer and delete it. If this cant find it look n your 'startup' menu on the start menu to locate it. Your system should be fine at the next boot
