If you want to do this automatically, there are two PowerPoint add-ins that do it for you.
One of these add-ins is bundled with TechSmith SnagIt -- I reviewed this at:

Another new add-in, ScreenShot Direct that does the same task is detailed here:

Of course you can also manually take screenshots by pressing the PrintScreen key -- and pasting the screenshot into a PowerPoint slide.
