How do you tell a boy turtle from a girl turtle?

Males often have fatter, bigger tails than females. Males have the vent [ cloaca] toward the tip of the tail. The female cloaca is closer to the shell. Males have a concave bottom shell to fit better on top of the female during mating. Females have a convex bottom shell to provide more space for eggs.

How old is a painted turtle 2 inches long?

size is not an accurate way to tell age of a turtle do to the fact that if the turtle is kept in poor conditions ie without light in a very small enclosure not eating correctly or if it is sick... but from my opinion a quarter sized turtle is about 5 weeks old.

How do you tell a baby girl from a baby boy snapping turtle?

The difference between a female snapping turtle and a male snapping turtle is the difference in their tales. Each snapping turtle has a small cirlce looking shape on theie tale. If it is a female snapping turtle, it's circle will be closer to the shell (or the butt) an if it is a male snapping turtle, the circle will not neccesarily be at the end of the tail, but it is certainly not near the shell (or butt). With most snapping turtles, it should be obvious, but with some, it is hard to tell, especially if their newborns (a week old or younger).
