There are 2 good ways to do this. One is the smell. Fish smells fishy, yes, but bad fish smells really bad. There is a difference in the smell if it is bad. Second, the color. It will have a greenish color if it is really bad.
A co-worker of mine made tuna salad however the tuna was left out for almost an hour uncover and than it started to taste really funny. I was wondering does can tuna taste funny if left out for awhile
Usually the odor tells you first. It will smell fishy or of ammonia. The flesh will feel slimy or sticky.
You can tell the age of tuna by how big they are. Tuna grow up to 6 feet and can weigh 600 pounds.

If it is stale and a very light brown and nothing grows on top of it, then you know you have bad soil.
It will probably smell bad or have a noticeably weird flavour to it.
It as a dark color and it emits a bad order that is easily recognizable
Swap it with one you know is good.
Well it all depends if the sound of the engine is abnormal or muffled then it prolly gone bad and if it dont start then well you know its bad
Try smelling it if you still dont know, pour some into a glass and see if it looks clumpy or thick. Dont drink after its gone bad!
