How can you tell if you have squirrel infestation or chipmunk infestation?
Answer:
Chipmunks don't generally infest the upper structure of buildings. They prefer ground boroughs or holes into your cellar. However, squirrels prefer the top level in a structure. They tend towards warm attics, or can live in walls. Check your houses sophets for any cracks or separation points that they may have gotten in through, although they can chew through nearly anything if they are determined enough.
Tell tale signs of a squirrel or chipmunk infestation:
Little rice, tic-tac or mike-n-ike size feces- dark brown to black in color.
Holes in bags.
Chewed carpeting.
Vibrant pungent yellow urine.
It is also possible that you might have a raccoon or opossum infestation. These creatures aren't just more clever, but more dangerous. I wouldn't advise attempting to treat an infestation yourself.
Keep your eyes peeled for signs of pests and alert animal control.
