Female bettas are more at ease with a school of their own kind, it is a fish that moves around or swims in the tank, they eat staple food as a diet with no problem its not a long lived fish they do like to hide in plants if they are in with larger fish, the fish for the most part is easy going and swims around a lot, any fish that does not get enough to eat will pick on even a slow moving larger fish to stay alive. no special diet required just make sure when you are feeding your fish you see the female betta eating. I am sure you will.
Bettas do not get pregnant. They are egg layers. When a female Betta is plump around the tummy she could well be ready to be put with a male for spawning purposes. A close watch needs to be kept on the 'pair' because if she is not ready to spawn the male will kill her.
They get a fat stomach.. also they are not as active and their hunger increases greatly.. therefore .. they are pregnant..
Hey. Ok. So if it isn't acting his/herself and is laid-back and not moving a lot. Then you will know.
Male betta's build bubble nests (a film on the aquarium surface made of bubbles) when they are ready to breed.
I usually turn off the lights and just leave them alone for a while. They usually calm down then.
ya
The male Betta splendens is a larger more colourful fish with much larger showier fins than the female. He will also flare up almost immediately when he sees his own image in a mirror. The females do not do this so readily.
A girl Betta is dull and not as pretty as the male. But, a boy Betta is colorful and pretty to attract the female mate.
Male betta's are more colorful then female's
Nothing will happen but if you put a female betta fish and a male betta fish their going to figth so make sure to have that thing that separates them male betta fish can figth and if a male betta fish has babies separte them and keep them away from their parents and when they grow up check if their a male or a female if their female put them on the same tank put there might be a lot of females if i was u i will just sale them cuz i think you only have one tank but thats my opinion and if somebody needs a question just tell me my name is Allison Hamilton
The males have the large flowing fins and will display when they see another male or their own reflection.
It is pretty hard to tell. Wait until they get older then see which ones have longer fins, and shorter fins.
you can tell if its a boy or girl by the fins the male Betta has long fins and the female Betta has small fins
If you have a betta fish food, and have a picture on it, it's probabily male fish. They are prettier and have longer finns. (Kinda like gold fish with long finns exept different color) The female bettas has shorter finns and are uglier, and I don't know why...Well.. male beta fish are more colorful like red and blue. And female beta fish are more whitish pink maybe with a few black spotsall i can say is male betas are colorful and females are more dull
It's all in the tail. the males is larger and longer and the females is shorter.
Female Bettas tend to have small fins and duller colors, while males have larger fins and brighter colors.
They will normally tell you at the store- but males have longer fins than females. Males are also generally more colorful
