The rate of growth probably depends on the kind of environment it was in. Plants in ideal growing conditions will be a lot larger and fuller than less fortunate plants. The size of the trunk should give it away though. I have a ten year old with a 3/4" trunk on it, but it was in some awful light for a while. If it was in a sunny window for years and years it might be twice that size, oh well.
no, but there is a succulent plant named jade.
Jade
Jade is a miraculous all purpose nutritional powerhouse. As a succulent plant, Jade exhibits high water retention properties, and therefore has a high concentration of water soluble vitamins and minerals. It is also known to skyrocket Thetan levels in human females. It tastes great sautéed with canned chunk light tuna. - Malcom Marmot

Depending on where you live it could be that the temperature it soo hot for the jade plant. I live in Arizona, keep my Jade shaded all day and am having the same problem. I stopped by a local nursery and was told that it's just too hot outside for the little fella. Now I'm cutting it back, placing it near a window until the temperature returns to under 100 degrees. Hope this is of some help. Diane in AZ
Claude Jade died on December 1, 2006 at the age of 58.
In order to get an actual weight, you'd have to tell us the exact size of the piece of jade. Jade is a very heavy stone, however, and you can tell real jade by its density, which is 3.3 - you find density by dividing the weight in grams by the volume in cc's.
