What are effective home remedies for cat flu?

See a vet. I don't believe cats catch cold. It could be much more serious and trying to treat with human medication could harm her. Even if it is a cold, how would you know the correct dosage?

To the best of my knowledge, there are no effective or safe herbal remedies for a cat's cold. In general, cats with upper respiratory infections have a viral infection, which tends to resist treatment with anything except dedicated antiviral medications (which are not approved for use in cats). These infections also tend to be self-limiting and cats tend to get over them without any medication or assistance.

Cat colds are different from a human cold as far as the pathology goes, but similar in symptoms and treatment. Your cat most likely has an upper respiratory infection. Treat your cat just like you would an ill human. Rest along with plenty of food and water. You can also use cotton balls or clean, lint-free cloths to wipe any mucus from the cat's nose and eyes. If you have a vaporizer in your home, you can keep the cat in the room with the vaporizer and it should help the congestion clear up some.

If symptoms last longer than 7-10 days (or earlier, if you have reason for concern), a visit to the veterinarian would be wise.

It is called a upper respiratory infection when cats start to sneeze and the eyes weep. You do have to take the cat to the vet and they will give your cat Amoxicillian, just like we humans take along with Terimycian (spelled wrong I am sure) for the weeping eyes if needed.
