The female Cheetah normally picks a secluded quiet place to make her den. The cubs will be completely helpless when first born, and need a site that isn't easily searched out. She will dig out a shallow den in sandy soil using large rocks for shelter, or find a depression in the tall grasses and make her den in there. When pushed she will even just pick a place in thick undergrowth to make her den, if that is all she can find, and her time is near. For more details, please see the site listed below.
Cheetahs actually don't build dens but they will travel around to find food when the cubs are old enough. Cheetahs will most likely give birth in a safe sheltered place. Maybe like an enclosed area like a rock cave or make a den out of the savanna grasses.

Well when a male and female cheetah want to have some cheetah cubs of their own, the male humps the female. Then after ages the female slowly gives birth to a litter of cubs possibly containing from 1 cub all the way to 17 cubs.
