How come 21 December 2012 is the doomsday. What causes? |
Basically the ancient Mayan calendar is over 2300 years old. When this calendar is recalculated in to our Gragoran calendar the end date is 21st Dec 2012. The Mayan selected this date to coinside with a winter solstice. Yet the specific reasons why they chose this date remains a mystery. Some suggest that it marks the end of the world. Some suggest it is the begining of Armageddon as suggested in the bible. Some suggest it is to do with a near orbit of Planet X in our solar system (which NASA denies) also knows as Nibiru. They suggest that this near orbit will cause the magnetic poles to reverse and cause major earthquakes and volcanic eruptions etc.
Ultimately the evidence is speculative, however with so many predictions centered around 2012, one has to wonder just what will actually happen if anything.
