Hitler wrote in his autobiography Mein Kampf that his father died of an apoplexy. That term is now outdated, and can mean bleeding inside of an organ, a brain injury, or a stroke. Upon doing some research, I found that he most probably haemorrhaged from his lungs, considering he choked to death.

Hitler's father, Alois, died on the morning of 3 January, from a haemorrhage.
