The Spanish began slave trading in the West Indies in the 1600's. Then a British Company got into it and bought, kidnapped and sold the African people into bondage under the approval of Queen Elizabeth who only ask if any of them were 'taken against their will' and the answer was no that they were basically doing them a favor by introducing them into civilization.

They were brought by ship to be slaves on plantations and factories. Africans came to America because they were either kidnapped or purchased from Africa or they were brought their from tribes that owned slaves.

Most Africans were brought to North America as Slaves. After England colonized Africa they joined the slave trade within Africa and sent their newly bought slaves to their other colonies, most prominently North America.

well in the early days africans normally came into America as house servents. They were people who worked for whites, not owned by them. then later on in history they started becoming slaves and were shipped here mostly by the trans-atlantic slave trade ships. when they banned the shipping of slaves many people who owned slaves began 'slave breeding'. slave breeding was when masters encouraged their slaves to have as many kids as possible so they could be raised as their future slaves or they could sell them on the market.
