Benjamin Franklin didn't really fight in many battles during the war. However, without Benjamin Franklin, our freedom from Britain may have never existed. Benjamin Franklin helped create and maintain an alliance with France that was critical in winning the Revolutionary War. The French went on to assist the Americans in many battles, including the Battle of Yorktown, where their navy blocked off Chesapeake bay, making it possible for the Americans to win the battle.
