The word comes from 'budhi', 'to awaken'. It has its origins about 2,500 years ago when Siddhata Gotama, known as the Buddha, was himself awakened (enlightened) at the age of 35. *Buddhism was founded by Goutama Buddha in the 5th Century BC in the eastern part of India.

Buddhism grew with one practioner at a time.

The Buddha's followers -- those who learned from him directly -- worked to keep his teachings as true to his original intention as they could, and (just like he did) walked great distances to share them. Over time, person-to-person, the teachings spread largely because they don't require any faith at all -- once a student begins to understand what's being taught, and put it into practice with diligence, the fact that the teachings work to relieve suffering is enough to make them spread. Asia.

it evolved when it evolved

Answer No. 2

Evolution of Buddhism is a false question. Evolution means something that came into being by gradual changes through a long time duration and finally takes a particular charactristics...and still keep on changing.

Here is the opposite: Buddhism speaks of the evolution or the changing or the impermanent nature of this universe, but Buddhism itself doesn't gets change in its meaning and goal, but of course Buddhism itself is empty, because it is just an intangible logic which is a continuum of the reality.

e.g if I say, how E=MC2 evolved? then it is a wrong question. It was already there in nature before even Albert Einsten was borne. It remained the same formula before it was discover, It remained same after its discovery and will remained the same until the last second of reality. So this formula is not evolving but expressing continuously and constantly a fact. You can solve this formula in different ways, but the equation and its meaning cant change, so cant be evolved.

Same is the case of Buddhism. Its logic were already in the reality even before Buddha discover it. It was same during the Buddha and will remain same until the last second of the reality. Buddhism is a logic formulated by the Buddha to understand the reality and for getting rid of that. This expression was same and will be the same . So can't be evolved in terms of its meaning, intensity or the goal. Of course you can develop many other approaches for reaching the same goal.

Buddhism was formed when Siddhartha Gautama, a practicing Hindu, taught different ideals of Hinduism. While he was alive, it was considered a different sect of Hinduism. But when he died, it was accepted as its own religion.

Note: A sect is smaller parts of a religion. Examples are how protestants, Catholics, and Jews are all considered Christians because they all believe in the same God.

Buddhism expanded by word of mouth. People in the East were desperate for a new religion because they were suffering and when Buddhism came up, they took Gautama up on his offer
