I believe that he loved her and her death influenced his decision to kill himself on April 29th. 1945. I also believe he killed himself because he know he lost the war and did not want people to parade his body around Germany. His rage I believe was because of drugs and possibly of anger that his true love was died meaning Angelika his niece.
