Hannibal commited suicide by drinking poison which he kept in a ring, because he didn't want the Romans to capture him. His last words were: "Let us now relieve the Romans of their fears by the death of a feeble old man."
It is said that he died around 183 BC, the same as Scipio. No one knows precisely. Allegedly, he took his own poison that he carried in his ring rather than surrender..
Hannibal received his education by campaigning with his father Hasdrubal Barca (The Thunderer) . I'm not sure whether he , Hannibal Barca , ever received any formal education .
