How did Henry the viii change the church in England?

Answer:
Henry VIII who was a Roman Catholic wanted to divorce his wife but the pope refused stating it was agains the church. Henry VIII broke from the Catholic Church creating the Protestant religion and made himself the head of it. Other Anglican religions are off shoots of this protestantism because they did not want to defer to the King as the head of the church.
