Narmer is thought to be the successor to the predynastic Scorpion, who might have been the king of Thinis -before it was destroyed and then rebuild by Narmer (i think that is what happened anyway)- and Narmer's father. Narmer is considered to be the founder of the first dynasty and therefore the first king of all Egypt. The people of Thinis called him 'the Golden One' but I do not know much this is only what I think, most likely not true. But if you want answers read Jackie French's book called 'Pharaoh' it is about Narmer and is based on the real historical events.
