Did the Devil Tempt Eve?

The instant answer is Yes he did.

However one needs to understand how and why

Understand who the Devil is

Revelation 12

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Understand the Tempting of Eve

Genesis 3

3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Genesis 2 (what our Father actually stated)

16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

See how the Serpent (the Devil) deceives people…. Yes our Father made the statement of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: However he added a caveat to that statement

Eve's response to the Serpent (The Devil):

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Now did Eve repeat what our Father told her?

Here is the deception via temptation from the Serpent (the Devil)

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Eve reacts to the deception of the Serpent (the Devil)

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,

and that it was pleasant to the eyes,

and a tree to be desired to make one wise,

she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7 And the eyes of them both were opened,

and they knew that they were naked;

and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Our Father finds out what occurred (Remember his commandment…)

9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

What is learned?

You must know by now the subject of fruit and trees is a metaphor, as the fruit of a tree (many falsely calling it an apple) is not going to, be pleasant to the eyes. make one wise, make one as gods knowing good and evil, and make one cover their private parts with fig leaves. Neither would partaking in it be cause for death.

Here is the key…. Adam (ethhaadam) is not the first man created as many falsely claim

The 6 days of Creation and the 7th day of rest

2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Note that verse 3 ends with a period closing the subject of the first 7 days. Then things continue with the next day (8th)

How long is a Day?

2nd Peter 3

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Therefore that first 7 days (the first week) was 7000 years in length, not 7 (24 hour) periods as some incorrectly assume.

On the 8th day (1st day of the 2nd week)

4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew:

for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

Did you Get that? There was:

No Rain

No Man to till the soil (farmer)

There were people who had been upon this earth for nearly 2000 years at this point, but no man to till the soil and no rain to water a garden.

Our Father forms Adam (on the 8th day)

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

  • The word translated man is Adam, more specifically it includes the article and particle therefore its eth-ha-adam (this specific man).
  • eth-ha-adam (this specific person of this description)
  • ha-adam (this specific group of people of this description)
  • adam (all people of this description)

This is very important to note as the word Adam is printed without the article and particle in many places, which makes things confusing.

Our Father was creating an unbroken chain of people, a specific people, from whom Christ would come in the flesh. Evidence?

Noah: Genesis 6

7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Abraham part of the unbroken chain

Genesis 17

10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

Isaac continues the seed line

18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

Luke 2 (Jesus continues the Covenant)

21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

The Peculiar People/Treasure ….

Exodus 19:5 ..Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

Deuteronomy 14:2 ..For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

Deuteronomy 26:18 ..And the Lord hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;

Psalms 135:4 ..For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

Titus 2:14 ..Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

1 Peter 2:9 ..But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

The seed line present in Christ

Luke 1 (Aaron of the tribe of Levi one of the Tribes of Israel)

5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

What about Mary? (she was cousin to Elisabeth of the daughters of Aaron)

36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

54 He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;

55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

The Serpent (the Devil) and his fallen angels

He wanted to destroy that people from whom Christ would come, or at least make their claim of purity false.

6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Summary:

Does it make more sense now why the Serpent (Devil or Satan) attacked Eve and not women created on the 6th day? He was trying to break up the seed line, the generations, that peculiar people, which would connect from Adam (eth-ha-adam) to Christ.

The Serpent (Devil or Satan) was attempting to destroy our Fathers plan of the peculiar people whom he had formed for his purpose. Since Eve was of those people. the Serpent attacked her first.

Here is the kicker,

Cain is not Adams son… Let me state that once more …. Cain is not Adams son.

You will not find Cain written in the genealogy of Adam. The genealogy of Adam is written in Genesis 5. You will find the historical genealogy of Adam and Abraham written in Matthew 1, which does not include Cain either.

Christ will make this very clear in John 8 concerning the sons of Cain.

A woman can be pregnant by two different men at the same time

Superfecundation twins: When a woman has intercourse with two different men in a short period of time while ovulating, it's possible for both men to impregnate her separately.

…also called heteropaternal superfecundation.

The other takeaway

From the 8th day when Adam (eth-ha-adam) was formed, we have come foreword about 6 days (6000 years), this means we are on the verge of another 1000 years of rest (7th day). This earth iteration has purposed upon it two weeks total of days lasting 1000 years each (14000 years). We are currently upon the 6th day of the second week. Christ was cut off in the middle of that second week (just as it is written).

The final generation foretold by Christ (Matthew 24 and Mark 13) started in 1948 (Jeremiah 24), generation of the fig. Biblical generations have 3 lengths in time .. 70 or 80 yrs (Psalms 90) or 120 (Genesis 6) … I will leave it to you to do the math. Remember the generations are not absolute times, they are simply mile markers for which we must watch for the foretold prophecies to occur.

The story of Adam and Eve never mentions the post-Exilic Satan, and there is no suggestion that Satan was ever involved in the story of Adam and Eve. Instead the story has a serpent tempt Eve. This serpent was a relic of former animist beliefs and was a common motif in ancient Near Eastern belief.

The serpent was more cunning than any other animal in the Garden. First, he called into question God's right to decide which fruit they could eat: "Has God indeed said that you shall not eat from every tree in the garden?"

The serpent told Eve that she would not die from eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This impugned dishonesty in the motives of God, who had, in Eve's words, said that they would die if they ate of the tree.

Most importantly, the serpent told Eve that by eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, she and Adam would be like the gods, knowing both good and evil. According to Genesis, this was undoubtedly true, as once Adam and Eve had eaten of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they were like gods (Genesis 3:22: "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us..."), but had also become aware of their mortality. Finally it created a self-awareness and a longing for knowledge.

Eve was tempted, and ate the fruit.
