From the reports, the arteries and vessels, the police scoured that house with forensic equipment and found zero traces of any blood. They also looked in Scott and Laci's vehicles and found a minuscule amount of blood in Scott's truck (on the driver side door) which Scott explained away as saying that he "cut himself on his tool box door." Stabbing is just not possible with forensic evidence to prove it.

Because of the poor condition of the body after being pulled from the San Fransisco Bay it was almost impossible to determine cause of death. But the lack of blood in the home, boat or cars and because the bones had no knife marks on them that narrows it down to a certain degree. The 2 most likely methods would have been strangulation or smothering. Peterson's half sister had the theory that he may have drowned her in their back yard pool. I doubt that scenario. They had neighbors on both sides of the house. He would have been taking a huge risk to kill her outside where any neighbors could have heard or seen anything. It would have been so easy for him to sneak up behind her and wrap a cord or rope around her neck. It would have left very little, if any, blood. If he was behind her it would have been much less likely to sustain scratches. Peterson strikes me as the type who would not have had the courage to look her in the face as he killed her. He could have poisened her but that may have turned up in the toxicology report and the other possibility is he could have snapped her neck somehow. This also may have turn up at the autopsy or may have not since her head was never found so most of the neck vertabrae were probably missing also.

The death of Conner Peterson was hotly debated at Peterson's trial. Experts for the prosecution were of the mind that Conner was a victim of 'coffin birth'. Meaning he was a well developed fetus almost full term and his death was due to the death of his mother, Lacy. His body was in much better shape than Lacy's due to the fact that his body was expelled at a later time, minimizing the damage due to the salt water and animal predation.

Of course the defense had their own version. But with the condition of Lacy's body being in an advanced state of decomposition and had much more predation of sea creatures that a positive cause of death could not be determined. It was made more difficult due to the fact that parts of Lacy's body were never recovered. She had no head, lower arms and legs. I believe the autopsy stated Lacy's cause of death as undetermined.

But the crime scene gives clues as to how Lacy was murdered. Lack of blood evidence at the Peterson home indicated that she most likely was not stabbed or shot with a gun. Peterson's half sister Anne Byrd feels that Scott may have drown Lacy in the backyard pool. This would account for a lack of blood at the home. But I find this an unlikely means of murder. The Peterson's had neighbors on both sides and across the street. If Scott had held her under the water there would have been some splashing and the chance that a neighbor on any side could have discovered the crime had they just peeked over the fence. That leaves stranglation or smothering, either one would have been very quiet with a minimum of blood loss.

Ultimately, only Scott Peterson can answer what happened in that house on Christmas Eve. The last I heard though, Peterson was sticking to his original story, despite the fact that it made no sense and didn't fit at all with the evidence.

Who killed Tracy Peterson?

I am going to assume that you mean Laci Peterson. I have never heard of Tracy Peterson. Laci Peterson was murdered by her husband Scott Peterson in Modesto CA. At the time she was 8 months pregnant so Scott was also charged with the murder of the unborn boy baby named Conner. Scott Peterson was found guilty of both murders and was sentenced to death by lethal injection. Peterson now sits on San Quentin's death row. Also, see the link below for another possible Peterson case; Drew Peterson, currently on trial for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Salvo, killed in 2004. He is also under suspicion in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, but has not yet been charged in that case.

Did Scott Peterson kill Laci for insurance money?

When Scott and Laci Peterson bought their house on Covena St. in Modesto they purchased full life ins. on both of them for, I think, $250,000 each. At the time investigators may have entertained the idea that money may have been a motivating factor in Laci's murder. But as the pieces of the Peterson puzzle began to fall into place it seems that money was not the problem. The problem was that Scott the scociopath did not want to be a grownup. The reasons were all about Scott. Laci and Conner just got in the way.
